Exhibition open to the public December 2, 2017 through January 7, 2018.Art of Illumination returns to CAM for a third year, drawing inspiration from traditional lantern festivals that mark the transitional moment of seasons change and years end.The play is an experiment with verbatim and documentary theatre as it uses the actual words from these diaries (edited, but not embellished) for the creation of verbatim monologues.We hear the words and experiences of: Elizabeth, who undergoes the trials and tribulations of first love; Galina, a young woman from Turkmenistan recovering from an act of sexual violence; Pam, who records details of school, family, farming, dating, and a Peter Frampton concert; and of Susanne, a young woman struggling to reconcile her identities as an actor and as a committed Christian.is co-organized by the High Museum of Art, Atlanta and the Groninger Museum, the Netherlands.
